Dreaming of a luxurious honeymoon in Bali but worried about the cost? Fear not! With careful planning and savvy budgeting, you can enjoy all the romance and indulgence of a luxury honeymoon in Bali without breaking the bank. From stunning accommodations to unforgettable experiences, this guide will show you how to make the most of your honeymoon budget while still experiencing the magic of Bali in style.

Why Should You Trust Me?

Well, firstly, I am an Indonesian local. I was born and grew up in Indonesia. Secondly, I believe in my word so much that I actually had our honeymoon in Bali!

So without further a do:

1. Choose the Right Time to Visit:

Firstly, consider timing your trip during the shoulder seasons, typically April-May and September-October. Not only will you avoid the crowds, but you might also snag better deals on accommodations and activities as prices tend to be lower during these quieter periods.

Additionally, keep your eyes peeled for enticing deals and discounts on flights and accommodations. From special promotions to last-minute offers, there are plenty of opportunities to score significant savings on your honeymoon expenses. With a bit of flexibility and some smart planning, you can enjoy all the luxuries of Bali without breaking the bank.

I used Google Flights and can often get 30% discount on flights by flying to Singapore and taking local connection.

2. Find Affordable Luxury Accommodations:

Luxury in Bali is cheaper compared to other destinations because of the exchange rate. I mean, 1 USD is 16 THOUSAND Indonesian Rupiah at the time of writing, so yeah it can get you quite a lot. the Indonesian government likes it that way because tourism is one of Indonesia’s main sector, so yeah capitalise on those!

Exchange rate USD to IDR

Bali is home to countless charming boutique hotels and guesthouses that offer stylish accommodations and personalized service at a fraction of the cost of luxury resorts. I mean, please tell me WHERE ELSE can you stay for £25 per person, with ENTIRE villa with PRIVATE SWIMMING POOL?

I went skinny dipping for the first time LOL

Many hotels and resorts in Bali offer special honeymoon packages that include romantic extras like couples’ spa treatments, sunset dinners, and champagne upon arrival. At Nunamkhalu which is where I stayed for our honeymoon, they decorated our room very nicely when I mentioned that I’m coming on honeymoon.

3. Take Advantage of Special Offers:

Sometimes it works out cheaper to do private tours compared to booking taxi and buying ticket separately. For example, this Ubud tour which includes Monkey Forest, Ceking Rice Terrace at Tegalalang, Tirta Empul, Ubud Palace, and Ubud Art Market, and Tegenungan Waterfall is £40.72 at the time of writing. Taxi itself would have cost me £30 per taxi. Also, the tour already includes all the entrance fees. So it’s definitely worth it to book private tours in Bali. I often find mine from GetYourGuide, Viator or Klook.

4. Dine Like Royalty on a Budget:

There’s tons of tasty yet affordable options to eat in Bali. From local street food stalls to cozy warungs (local food stall), there’s something delicious around every corner. Don’t miss out on trying classic Balinese dishes like babi guling (roast suckling pig) or bebek betutu (Balinese roast duck) for a real taste of the island’s flavors.

All these for USD 5. Including drinks!!

And here’s a money-saving tip: keep an eye out for happy hour deals! Lots of bars and restaurants in Bali offer discounted drinks and snacks, especially around sunset. So, you can enjoy a romantic evening without worrying about overspending. Cheers to good food and great savings!

5. Enjoy Free and Low-Cost Activities:

When you’re in Bali for your honeymoon, don’t forget to hit the beach! It’s totally free and oh-so-romantic. Grab your favorite snacks, maybe rent a beach umbrella for some shade, and just chill out with your partner, listening to the waves and soaking up the sun all day long.

And for a bit of local flavor, check out the markets! Places like Ubud Market and Sanur Night Market are bustling with life. You can stroll around, check out cool crafts and souvenirs, and even try some yummy local snacks without busting your budget. It’s a fun way to explore the culture and maybe find a little something special to remember your trip by! I mean, if you buy too many, it’s not going to be “budget” anymore, but with the low exchange rate we discussed before, we’ll be OK!

A luxury honeymoon in Bali doesn’t have to come with a luxury price tag. With careful planning, savvy budgeting, and a willingness to explore affordable alternatives, you can enjoy all the romance and indulgence of a luxury honeymoon in Bali without breaking the bank. So pack your bags, prepare to be swept away by the beauty of Bali, and get ready for the honeymoon of a lifetime – without the hefty price tag!
