Bali is one of very popular destination for honeymoon. Including me! I had my awesome honeymoon in Bali in September 2023. My husband had a blast and had a great introduction to Indonesia. Despite Bali being very popular, I think it’s popular for a reason. It’s so cheap making it great to enjoy luxury that people can’t typically afford anywhere else (find a full cost breakdown here!). So if that’s you – let me help you find the best places to stay in Bali for your honeymoon!
Top Luxury: The Apurva Kempinski Bali – Nusa Dua
If you want to go all out, The Apurva Kempinski is the definition of honeymoon luxury. It is locally known as the most luxurious hotel in Nusa Dua. The hotel is 5 stars, as you’d expect. Set high on a clifftop in Nusa Dua, this grand resort blends Indonesian tradition with five-star indulgence.
Why stay here:
- Big resort – you wont get disturbed by anyone else
- Lavish suites and pool villas, some with direct access to the pool or ocean
- Great food options – including eating with the fish in Koral Restaurant!
- Absolutely mind blowing outdoor space to walk around, chill out, swim.
If you stay here – make sure you go to Koral Restaurant and eat with the fish! Koral Restaurant, located within The Apurva Kempinski Bali, offers one of the most unique dining experiences in Bali. As Bali’s first aquarium restaurant, it combines fine dining with the atmosphere of an underwater world. You can enjoy fine dining, all while surrounded by marine life swimming behind floor-to-ceiling glass panels.
Koral Restaurant is of course great, but don’t spend all your time eating there. Go out and venture – there’s SO many things to eat in Bali. Check here on my guide on what to eat in Bali!

Mid-Budget: Ulu Segara Luxury Suites & Villas
Ulu Segara offers a more affordable alternative to the big-name luxury hotels – but without compromising on comfort, views or peace.
Perfect for couples who want:
- Private suites and villas with ocean views
- A quiet, uncrowded location near the cliffs
- Friendly service and a relaxing atmosphere
- A great mix of comfort and privacy, without the high price tag
- Designed as a honeymoon hotel
I find the design as a honeymoon hotel to be very convenient during my honeymoon. They have a massive bathroom where you can shower together. The chairs beside the pools are all in pairs. Small things like that but it really emphasise how they are designed for honeymoon.

Best Value for Money: Nunamkhalu Private Villa & Spa
For couples who want good value, privacy, and charm, Nunamkhalu offers a peaceful villa stay at a price that’s hard to beat. I mean, where else can you stay at a private villa, with a private pool for USD 50 per night?!
Why it’s a hidden gem:
- Spacious private villas with their own pools
- Quiet, rural setting – perfect for disconnecting
- In-villa dining and spa services available
- Excellent rates for what’s on offer
It’s a lovely option for couples who want a more relaxed and affordable honeymoon while still enjoying a touch of luxury. They are not beach front, is one of the problem, but they have free shuttles to the nearest beach.

In Ubud: Alamdini Resort Ubud
If you’re heading to Ubud (which you really should – there’s so many things to do!), Alamdini Resort is a stylish, mid-range stay tucked away in central Ubud – close to cafes, temples, and nature walks.
What makes it ideal:
- Beautiful, modern suites with private terraces
- Peaceful setting yet just minutes from Ubud town
- A lovely pool overlooking tropical greenery
- Great service and value for money
Perfect if you’re combining beach and jungle in one honeymoon and want a calm, romantic base in Ubud.

Best Sunset View: Le Méridien Bali Jimbaran
If stunning sunsets and lagoon pools are high on your wishlist, Le Méridien in Jimbaran delivers both – and then some.
Why honeymooners love it:
- Beautiful unique lagoon pools view! Some can be accessed from the suites
- Just steps from Jimbaran Beach, known for seafood dinners on the sand
- Easy access to both quiet beaches and local charm
- Close to the airport
It’s a solid choice for couples who want a laid-back beach stay with unforgettable views at dusk. Jimbaran is on the west coast, so that’s how you can get sunset views unlike Nusa Dua which is on the east coast.

Final Thoughts
No matter your budget or style, Bali offers a perfect honeymoon setting. You can mix and match – perhaps start with a few days in Ubud and then unwind by the sea. Wherever you stay, you’ll find the perfect mix of beauty, culture, and romance.
Tip: Let the hotel know it’s your honeymoon when booking – many include lovely extras like flower arrangements, room upgrades, or welcome treats! Bali hospitality is top notch.
Your honeymoon in Bali doesn’t need to be extravagant to be extraordinary. It’s about finding a place that makes you both feel special – and Bali has more than a few of those.
